Background
The ConQuest Query Management System is used to receive, process and respond
to ‘contacts’ from Shippers and Networks. The system was a ‘state of the
art’ workflow management tool back in 2001 when it was implemented and
has served us well for nearly a decade. There is a need to replace the
Query Handling system and in this respect a project team has been formed
to undertake the work of transitioning to the new technology which will
facilitate innovative ways of operating this and other services.
Case for Change
The aim of the replacement is to stabilise the system in order to maintain
performance and delivery against customer service targets for the query
management performance. There will be consequential impacts of the upgrade,
but we will work with existing forums to discuss these changes, and assess
impacts. The chosen technology will give us more flexibility than the
current system to meet future changes if desired by customers. Additionally,
the new technology will provide the ability to extend the way we interact
with other stakeholders who are participants in the provision of the range
of services we provide.
