CODE SERVICES - Provided under UNC (Uniform Network Code)
The Code Services that form part of the user pays regime are User Admissions,
Must Reads and Shipper Agreed Reads as defined in the Uniform Network
Code.
For those unfamiliar with the UNC, the following pages provide a summary of the Code Services;
User Admission
The User Admission service is the xoserve activities associated with setting
a new gas shipper up to be able to enter the market. The User Admission
service consists of installing the Information Exchange (IX) hardware
to enable the shipper to communicate with the UK Link System and the associated
administrative work to guide the shipper through the various stages and
necessary agreements to be able to trade and supply gas in the UK.
For information on the User Admission service please see the Customer Lifecycle page.
Must Reads.
Shippers have an obligation under Uniform Network Code (UNC) Section M
3.4 & 3.5 to obtain valid meter readings. Where the Shipper has failed
to obtain a meter reading, the Transporter is obligated to use reasonable
endeavours to procure a reading on the Shippers behalf. Shippers are charged
for the activities of obtaining the read and the associated administration
costs.
Shipper Agreed Reads.
As part of the change of Shipper process, the Confirming Shipper is obliged
to secure a valid opening meter reading. The Shipper Agreed Reads Process
occurs when no opening read has been submitted by the confirming shipper
and xoserve has had to estimate this read.
If the Confirming Shipper disputes the Opening read, that has been estimated
by xoserve, they may replace this read via the U01 record, fax facility
or through a BISCUIT e- mail File. Charges for this service will vary
according to which method a shipper wishes to use to submit their read
to xoserve.
The prices for the Code Services are located in the Agency Charging Statement.
