Customer Lifecycle - User Admission

User Admission is the process through which a prospective new User signs up to Uniform Network Code and is admitted into the Gas Market.

Users are also referred to as:

• Shippers
• Registered System Users (RSU)

There are two distinct groups of Users:

Portfolio Shippers

Approximately 40 currently active, contract with a Supplier to ship gas to an end consumer, receive transportation and energy balancing invoices

Traders

Approximately 150 currently active, trade in gas commodities, they do not have a “retail” business. A trader will only sign with National Grid Transmission Network Code and only receive energy balancing invoices.
