Gemini Enduring Transfer and Trade Arrangements

The Enduring Transfer and Trade Arrangements project is progressing well with all stages from Analysis through to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) being successfully completed.

UAT was successfully completed on 17th April 2009. This was a week ahead of schedule and followed 8 weeks of extensive testing by dedicated business users from the relevant business areas. A total of 504 test cases were executed with no outstanding faults.

Pre-Implementation assurance activities have commenced. At present, we are on schedule to implement the Gemini system changes as per the agreed date of 17th May 2009. This will necessitate an outage to the Gemini production system between 4am and 9am (with a contingency of 11am if a roll-back of code is required) which has been approved by the UK Link Committee. In addition, a contingency implementation date of 31st May 2009 has been agreed and appropriate plans developed should this be required.

The changes to the Gemini system have resulted in a number of changes to National Grid systems. These will be implemented alongside the Gemini changes and so both organisations are working closely to ensure alignment of the dependent activities.
