Coronavirus (COVID-19) Customer Update - 8th June
Coronavirus (COVID-19) Customer Update
Published on 08 Jun 2020
I’d like to share my latest update as we continue to support you through the ongoing challenges and impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak.
This week Ofgem published their decision to reject Urgent Modification 0721 - Shipper submitted AQ Corrections during COVID-19, so this functionality is not available to Shippers. We have updated our COVID-19 Urgent Modifications eLearning to reflect this decision, by removing the usage instructions for that functionality.
This week also saw Wales & West Utilities raise a further Urgent Modification, 0726 COVID-19 Liquidity Relief Scheme for Shippers. This would allow certain Gas Shippers to apply for extended payment terms on some large Gas Transportation Invoices (excluding Energy Balancing Invoices). The Modification has now been issued for Consultation and Representations need to be submitted by Friday 12th June, 5pm.
We have updated our weekly Interim Unidentified Gas (UIG) Reporting pack, and included another month of post-Reconciliation UIG trends. This shows that meter point reconciliation has already started to remove the negative UIG for April. It also shows that UIG was slightly positive on the Bank Holiday weekend, and on most days of the following week. Although weather has a significant impact on UIG, it is likely that the Bank Holiday factors, which are built into most of the non-Domestic profiles for the late-May Bank Holiday week will have reduced the level of over-allocation to that sector. Future trends in UIG will be affected by the scale of the upturn in business and manufacturing activity, following the easing of lockdown restrictions.
Please be aware, we will be moving to fortnightly COVID-19 updates from this week. If anyone has any concerns with this change in approach, please let me know. If there are any urgent updates, we will share these with you as appropriate. Our next update will be on Monday 22nd June.
