What do we do?
Xoserve is the Central Data Service Provider for Britain’s gas market. In this role we provide a comprehensive range of critically important services to gas suppliers, shippers and transporters.
We are responsible for providing information to gas transportation companies from a central register, combined with information about gas flows across the entire gas transportation network. The central register holds information about all premises with a gas supply; while gas flow information recognises which companies are responsible for gas entering and leaving the network; this enables the network to remain ‘in balance’ (between supply and demand).
The central register and related information flows require major integrated computer systems and highly skilled and knowledgeable people to support the reliable, efficient delivery of these critical services.
To support the delivery of this information, a multi-million pound investment to our IT systems was implemented on 1st June 2017. The UK Link system provides the most comprehensive and up to date platform for the provision of data related services in the entire UK energy business. Combined with recent changes to our governance arrangements, we are able to play an ever-increasing role in the energy sector, to the benefit of Britain’s energy consumers.
