A major project to improve and update the Gas Industry’s largest and most powerful database – UK Link – went live between 29th June and 1st July 2018.
The UK Link suite of systems facilitates key processes for the competitive Gas Industry in Great Britain, including Gas consumer switching.
The upgrade to UK Link, which is owned and managed by Xoserve on behalf of the Industry, has resulted in 16 changes. The project to deliver these changes has taken nine months to plan and is the second major upgrade to UK Link in the past year following Project Nexus Go Live in June 2017.
The scope for last weekend’s changes (named ‘UK Link Release 2’) was agreed by representatives from the Gas Industry’s Change Management Committee.
The team who managed the project are now providing Post Implementation Support to ensure that UK Link is functioning as it should be, now that industry participants have started to submit file flows.

Upgrades to UK Link are planned three times a year; the next upgrade is Release 3 planned for implementation in November 2018.
