Xoserve is delighted to announce that Clare Spottiswoode will be joining as Chairman from 1st January 2019.
Clare currently chairs Naftogaz, the largest company in Ukraine, and is Non-Executive Director of Ilika, Just, Gas Strategies and BW Offshore.
Clare has extensive experience of the energy sector having been Director General of Ofgas and responsible for introducing competition between 1993 and 1998. Subsequently, she has spent most of her career in the commercial sector, as well as the nuclear sector as Deputy Chair of British Energy and Chair of Magnox. She has also held roles as a Non-Executive Director on the boards of Tullow and Enquest.
Clare was one of the five commissioners on the Independent Commission of Banking – often known as the Vickers Commission and was previously Policyholder Advocate for Aviva, responsible for ensuring that around one million WithProfits Policyholders received a fair share of a £5 to £6 billion inherited estate.
Following her appointment Clare Spottiswoode said, “The strategy Xoserve has provides a clear and compelling pathway to simplifying our energy sector. This comes at a time when keeping it simple and leveraging every pound of value from the investments we have already made, will be key to UK productivity and is the right thing to do for consumers.”
Xoserve CEO Sian Jones said, “Clare has a wealth of experience and I look forward to working closely with her as Board Chairman as we continue our exciting transformation.”
The Xoserve board would like to thank Nick Durlacher for his commitment and support over the last eight years, as he steps down from the role of Chairman.
