    All about GSE

Our GSE project was successfully implemented on 25 July 2021.

This major change project has improved the Gemini and Gemini Exit applications.

It delivered over 65 enhancements, all based on the needs of a changing industry, including:

    • changes to existing screens
    • changes to the Meter Look-Up facility
    • introduction of 2 new report screens
    • introduction of a dashboard facility
    • introduction of 13 new APIs
    • enhancement to one existing API – View Re-nomination detail
    • provision of alternative access to APIs via the internet

One element of the project – access to APIs via the internet – was delayed due to data security concerns. This element will be delivered in 2022.

    What is the Gemini system?

The Gemini IT system is a suite of online applications for managing the transportation of gas through the National Transmission System (NTS) in Great Britain.

    These applications are used for:

    • capacity management (entry and exit capacity)
    • capacity trading
    • commercial balancing
    • invoicing (capacity and energy balancing)

    Project updates

Below are the updates issued following implementation on 25 July 2021.

    Update: 19 September 2021

On 19 September 2021, two further changes were made:

    • capture request API – Shipper defined limits validation was included
    • auction calendar dashboard – the status column in the auction calendar dashboard was improved to make auction status clearer

An updated version of the API specification document has been published to show the changes.

    Update: 5 September 2021

On 5 September 2021, the following changes were made:

    • meter screen – the effective end date was changed to the correct format of DD-MON-YYYY
    • trade screen – the Generate excel report function had been displaying only the first 100 records. It now displays all records
    • allocation by LDZ/meter type – the Generate report function had been showing NTS details at an aggregated level. Now, NTS details show a separate record for each day based on the selected date range
    • bid capture API – Shipper defined limits validation was included
    • breach icon – fix put in place for the Entitlement report breach icon

    Update: 30 August 2021

We needed to back out of GSE changes deployed on 29 August 2021, because of performance issues.

    Update: 18 August 2021

We’re still working on API access via the internet. Once the delivery date is agreed, we’ll notify customers.

An issue with the PDF report produced from the Nominations screen was fixed during the Gemini maintenance window on 30 July 2021.

The GSE project was implemented on 25 July 2021.

The GSE project was due to make APIs available over the internet on 25 July 2021. We want to put in place more effective security monitoring and control for the APIs, so we’ve delayed the launch.

All new and existing APIs will still be available via the Information Exchange (IX).

    User trials
