I’d like to share my latest update as we continue to support you through the ongoing challenges and impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak.
We updated the UNC Distribution Workgroup last week on recent trends in the level of Unidentified Gas (UIG), and how this might change following the implementation of Urgent UNC Modifications:
- 0722 (Urgent) - Allow Users to submit Estimated Meter Reading during COVID-19
- 0723 (Urgent) - Use of the Isolation Flag to identify sites with abnormal load reduction during COVID-19 period
UIG continues to be largely negative but also highly volatile, with factors such as unexpected usage patterns and unusually warm weather continuing to have an impact.
We continue to monitor transaction volumes following Ofgem’s approval of the three Urgent Modifications, and volumes are well within normal levels. If you are planning to submit an unusually large volume of any transactions over the coming weeks, please let your Customer Advocate know in advance.
Last week we heard that Ofgem had formally rejected Urgent Modification 0725 - Ability to Reflect the Correct Customer Network Use and System Offtake Quantity (SOQ) During COVID-19. The Industry is still awaiting a decision from Ofgem on Urgent Modification 0721 - Shipper submitted AQ Corrections during COVID-19, so that functionality is not available to Shippers.
