Coronavirus (COVID-19) Customer Update – 26th October 2020

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Customer Update

Published on 26 Oct 2020

Dear Customers,

I’d like to share my latest update as we continue to support you through the ongoing challenges and impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

E.On have withdrawn their recent COVID-19 related UNC Urgent Modification (0740 (Urgent) Amending the Formula Year AQ approach for 2021/2022 Formula Year) after Ofgem declined to grant it Urgent status.

UNC Modification 0730 (COVID-19 Capacity Retention Process) has now been issued out for industry consultation, with responses due by 5pm on Thursday 5th November. The Workgroup Report and all related papers can be found here.

Xoserve’s Demand Estimation Team has launched a consultation on the Non-Daily Metered (NDM) estimation algorithm. The objective is to gain industry insights into the future role of the NDM Algorithm and the level of support for changes to the formula, including the possible use of Machine Learning techniques. All the associated material is published on a dedicated Joint Office page and the closing date for responses is Friday 30th November. The supporting background document puts the consultation into context and links to other useful materials, including an options paper presented to the DSC Contract Management Committee. The options paper highlights that any options involving annual parameters would have struggled to cope with an unforeseen event, such as the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our next update will be on Monday 9th November. If you have any queries about our continuity planning, please email Covid19Enquiries@xoserve.com. We’ll respond to every email we receive within 24 hours.

Kind regards,
Andrew Szabo | Chief Customer Officer
