Dear Customers,

I’d like to share my latest update as we continue to support you through the ongoing challenges and impacts of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Since my last update, Ofgem have approved Urgent Modification 0726 COVID-19 Liquidity Relief Scheme for Shippers. This allows certain Gas Shippers to apply for extended payment terms on some large Gas Transportation Invoices (excluding Energy Balancing Invoices).  The window for applications for relief for the June Billing Period closed on 30th June. Details of the application windows for future Billing Periods can be found on the Application Form.

On 30th June, Gazprom raised a further Urgent UNC Modification 0730 COVID-19 Capacity Retention Process. This Modification looks to introduce a rebate of 50 percent of the LDZ Capacity Charges for sites which are isolated in accordance with Urgent Modification 0723 (Use of the Isolation Flag to identify sites with abnormal load reduction during COVID-19 period).  At the time of writing this, the new Modification is still with Ofgem for a decision on whether to grant it Urgent status.

At the request of the Large Distribution Network Operators we will not send them any more Must Read requests until further notice, due to ongoing COVID-19 restrictions.  This means that the Large Distribution Network Operators will not be attempting to obtain meter readings for sites which are overdue for a meter reading.  We will still send the “Pre-Notification” files to the relevant Shipper to flag up overdue sites, so that Shippers can take steps to obtain meter readings. Regular meter readings are essential for accurate Annual Quantities and timely settlement. This change does not affect sites on IGT (Independent Gas Transporter) Networks.
