Xoserve New Starters: What to Expect

Our Development and Wellbeing Manager, Elaine Shannon, is delighted to launch the first part of Xoserve’s new onboarding programme for new starters, “We listened to feedback about our old induction programme and have now transformed the experience for our new colleagues!”
The programme enables new colleagues to get the best first impression of Xoserve, covering who we are, what we do, what our key systems are and (crucially) our key customers/stakeholders, all within the first couple of days. Each team ensures that our new people experience a well-structured introduction to their role, responsibilities and how they fit into delivering our 'Strategy House'. These two things combined will help our new colleagues feel informed and valued.
All new colleagues will receive a Welcome Box delivered to their door containing a letter from a Xoserve Director, a copy of the '7 Habits of Highly Effective People' book, a Hotel Chocolat gift and a 'First 90 Days' book for managers. On arrival for their first day, they will also receive a mug, water bottle and some cards that describe the language of the 7 Habits. We’re a business where strong working relationships with colleagues are very important so within the first week we assign buddies to help new starters settle in and act as their point of contact.
At the end of day one, week one and month one, three and six, we ask our new colleagues how they've found their experience. This allows us to address issues quickly whilst continuously improving our onboarding process for future recruits. Oh…and there’s a free breakfast in our onsite restaurant thrown in too!
