What is the Statement of Planning Principles (SPP)?

The SPP outlines the strategic framework and principles that will guide the creation of BP26, setting out our approach to building Trust through fantastic engagement, intuitive content presentation, effective assurance and clearly articulating Value for Money. It also describes how we will Innovate via the investments we will be proposing this year and how the new capacity and capability we have introduced will enable us to Deliver excellent CDSP services on behalf of our Customers.

Changes made following Customer feedback

We published a Draft Version of the SPP on 30 June 2025. Following Customer feedback received during the associated consultation period the document has been updated to include:

• An Executive Summary to enable ‘bite size’ review
• A list of policy and industry consultation milestones that may impact the development of BP26
• Further details on performance enhancement activities and how they might impact BP26

Additional content

In addition to changes in the SPP document, we have also made the following content available on the dedicated BP26 portal:

• Black and white / no images version of the Final SPP
• Post-meeting media from the Customer Strategy Day which was held 8 July 2025 and included BP26 presentations and discussion
• Written correspondence and our responses (both in letter form and via the forum functionality on the portal)
