Xoserve's response to energy code reform

Last year, the Department for Business, Energy & Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and Ofgem consulted on proposals for energy code reform. This ran from 20 July to 28 September 2021.

While BEIS and Ofgem complete their analysis of the responses they received, we’re sharing our own response to the consultation.

Xoserve endorses a simplification of existing arrangements

Our response is grounded in the principle that the gas industry will need to remain an important component of the energy landscape, alongside electrification, if the UK is to achieve its Net Zero targets.

Overall, Xoserve endorses a simplification of existing arrangements, via an evolutionary approach.

We support option 1 detailed within the consultation but feel that further refinement of this option could deliver a better outcome for consumers.
